О стране
Indonesia is the world’s largest archipelagic state, comprising over 17 000 islands. It ranks as the world’s fourth most populous country, with a population of 286 million people (2025 estimate). The Indonesian government places great importance on developing its educational system, viewing it as a key driver for economic and social progress.
Indonesia is actively expanding its international educational collaborations with leading universities worldwide. This has led to a growing trend of Indonesian students pursuing studies abroad, driven by both cultural interest and academic ambitions.
Jakarta, the nation’s capital, serves as the country’s primary administrative and educational hub. It is home to 47 universities, catering to a student population of over 220 000.
Surabaya, the second-largest city after Jakarta with a population of 3 million, is renowned for its vibrant culture and is a major industrial and commercial center. The city also hosts a significant community of students and their families, numbering 35 000 according to 2025 data.
Participating in education exhibitions in Jakarta and Surabaya offers a strategic opportunity to recruit students for postgraduate programs, establish long-term partnerships, and expand your institution’s global reach. This potential is underscored by surveys indicating that over 40% of Indonesians are considering overseas education.
