О стране
Indonesia is the world’s largest archipelagic state, comprising 17 000 islands. It ranks as the world’s fourth most populous country, with a population of 286 million people (2025 estimate). The Indonesian government places great importance on developing its educational system, viewing it as a key driver for economic and social progress.
Indonesia is actively expanding its international educational collaborations with leading universities worldwide. This has led to a growing trend of Indonesian students pursuing studies abroad, driven by both cultural interest and academic ambitions.
In the 2024-2025 there were about 1 million high school students in Indonesia. The growing number of graduates who want a university education is creating a shortage of places in local universities. This is leading to increased demand for studying abroad.
According to the Bachelorstudies portal, the most popular subjects for students in Indonesia are Medicine, Literature & Humanities, Islamic Studies, Pharmacy, and Engineering.
Participating in education exhibitions in Jakarta, Surabaya and Bali offers a strategic opportunity to establish long-term partnerships, and expand your institution’s global reach. This potential is underscored by surveys indicating that over 40% of Indonesians are considering overseas education.
